About Nereidas

The NEREIDAS project aims to develop a standardization tool for the implementation of preventive and compensatory measures for environmental impacts related to transport and port activities.

The project will also aim to provide adequate solutions to minimize COemissions, biodiversity reduction and external costs in Mediterranea ports, while at the same time minimizing the potential environmental impact of new infrastructure.

Nereidas head new technologies, with the aim of controlling CO2 emissions and generate organisms that can capture, thus mitigating climate change.

It uses a novel combination of biological technologies and telecommunications through the procedures accurate and tested in Melilla.

Nereidas @ Green Port 2015

GP2015Project Nereidas will participate and sponsorship the 10th GreenPort Congress which will be held on the 7-9 October 2015 in Copenaghen.

On 7th October, Nereidas will sponsor the morning coffee break and in the afternoon there will be an offer cocktail with the presentation of the EWS  system.

On 8th October, during the session “Port City development, sustainability co-operation projects” , the project coordinator Jaime Bustillo will make the speech “CO2Reduction in Port expansions: Solution Comes from the Sea”.

Portopia: Driving Force Of Sustainability

portopiaPortopia aims at creating an integrated knowledge base and management system of port performance to serve the industry’s stakeholders in improving the sustainability and competitiveness of the European Port System.

Portopia has two main objectives: to support the European Port Industry with meaningful performance data to increase individual port and port transport system performance, and to support policy formulation and monitor policy implementation. (more…)
